Vent Solenoid Assembly

Solenoid used for the vent valve assembly.

(Solenoids may vary depending on availability.)

Remove the plunger shaft.

Remove the plastic clevis and mounting bracket.

Drill a hole in the center of the shaft for a piece of brass wire.

Solder the brass wire into the shaft.

Shaft is inserted back into the solenoid.

Trim rubber boot as shown to fit onto the solenoid.

Fit rubber boot onto solenoid and silicone in place. Check solenoid operation by connecting to battery. Solenoid should retract about 1/8” to 3/16". When completed, coat the solenoid with silicone sealer. Use 2 .light coats rather than 1 heavy coat. Remember to cover the entire solenoid and base of the wires, as this is the waterproofing which keeps the solenoid from shorting out.
